Welcome to The Bulletin

Night Trial Postponed

Night Trial cartoonOver the last couple of weeks, I have investigated the implications of the recently announced Government Covid Guidelines (for coming out of lockdown in stages) for the MTWC 75th Anniversary Night Trial. Key restrictions that will still be in place on the proposed date of the 24th April mean:

  • Possible quarantine for our overseas members.
  • Hotels and B&Bs will not be open.
  • We would not be allowed to gather indoors for the start, the half-way break and the finish.

Alternative ways of running the Night Trial within the government guidelines have been considered but I feel that the alterations needed would result in far less interesting and less challenging occasion that would not worthy of the 75th Anniversary of the Club and might well disappoint.

We have therefore decided to postpone the event until after the 21st June at which point all the restrictions on social contact are due to be removed.

Although I believe this is the right decision, it’s particularly disappointing since, as in 2020, we have a full entry of 20 Morgan Three Wheelers and around 25 highly enthusiastic nutters – sorry marshals and helpers – keen to put on a cracking event. I hope you’ll all be available for the new date.

As to alternative dates, I need to consider when other events are due to take place to avoid clashes and get back to you with a few alternatives as soon as possible.

Thanks for your continuing support.
