Your March Bulletin is online

March coverEditor Julian has had a rush of blood to the head (well, he certainly needed one for last month’s editorial!) and has produced a wonderful two page centrefold this month – enjoy.

I suspect that if members have been doing their homework inspired by recent Bulletin articles, we should have the best handling Morgans that the world has ever seen. And there’s more homework again this month!!! And, of course, that’s not the end of it, so read on.

Greetings to all in whichever continent you live. We hope that the vaccine will enable us all to get out there and enjoy each other’s company again soon.

Trailering to Europe?

I can see some big problems looming for anyone planning to “trailer” their Morgan ( or any vehicle) to events in Europe.
The cost of a Carnet de Passage is hundreds of pounds plus extra Insurance.
I am an Official of the ACU and I was alerted to this last week by them in an e-mail but it now appears to have serious implications to attending European meetings. My understanding is that those of us “driving” our Morgans will just need a Green Card, but who knows yet ?

Front Slider Bushes article + amendments

bearings

Dave Anscombe would like to alert members to some issues with the links in his articles ‘Front Slider Bushes’ and ‘Inspection lamp‘ in February’s  Bulletin (p.14/15 and p.24), together with a price change – see below:

Errata:

Slider Bushes: Unfortunately, the link in my February Bulletin article to the bearing catalogue for the slider bushes no longer works.  This is now to be found at https://www.ggbearings.com/sites/default/files/2020-10/ggb-du-dx-metal-polymer-composite-plain-bearings-us-brochure_0.pdf  or search on Google for “GGB DU and DX” and the first item found should be the catalogue.

The link to the online stockist still works but the price has gone up from £1.88 to £1.97 since I wrote the piece.

Inspection Lamp Plugs: The web link in my note on plugs for inspection lamp sockets also seems to have become garbled.  It is not necessary to pay £45 for a complete inspection lamp to obtain a plug.  These are available separately for £8.99 on eBay at  https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CAB185-545025-Land-Rover-Plug-Inspection-Lamp-Auxiliary-Socket-STC3334-82127/264738279677?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 or search eBay for “Land Rover inspection plug”.

I apologise for any confusion.  Dave Anscombe
