Once again, the Midlands Automobile Club hosted the VSCC’s Annual Hill Climb at Shelsley Walsh – the world’s oldest motor sport venue. It encompassed another round of the Club’s 2016 Speed Championship. A lovely sunny and dry day for competitors and spectators.

The Words – from lain Stewart
This Shelsley meeting was really good. Glorious sunshine, no accidents or mishaps and everyone had a great time. There were only the two Morgan 3 wheelers of Iain Stewart and Sue Darbyshire competing at this VSCC event.
It was Iain’s first return to Shelsley Walsh since he set a class record of 38.79 sec back in 1998. Given the weather conditions – he was extremely confident that he could significantly improve on this time. However it appears that over the past 17 years – the bends have become a lot sharper and the slopes are now a bit steeper (or it could be an age thing). Anyway, the best he could manage was only 39.58 sec. Sue saved all her energy for her final run and she whizzed past Iain with a very good 39.28 sec.
