YND Group Meeting – Change of Venue

With apparently very short notice to staff and customers as of 1st June 2018 ‘The Bay Horse’ is closed.  To tide us over a quick decision was made to use ‘The Dusty Miller’ close to the motorway just outside Barlborough for the June, July and August meetings. Click here for more details.

Possible Outing

Hi

Several of us enjoyed an outing with the VMCC “Three Wheels on My Wagon” run on Sunday.

I have been sent details of another VMCC run, which sounds as if it also might be entertaining.  This is “Herefordshire on the Edge” on Sunday 27th June.

I think this would be officially described as a “Navigation scatter rally” and has two optional start/finishes at  The Traveller’s Rest on the outskirts of Ross-on-Wye HR9 7QJ, or The Lion Hotel, Leintwardine SY7 0JZ.

Awards are to be gained for plotting a route to visit as many of the designated waypoints as possible around the borders of Herefordshire with optional distances of up to 160 miles for a Gold award.   There is also an option for the more adventurous to include some mild off-road waypoints.

Entry is a very reasonable £6 for VMCC members and £12 for non-members (to include day membership of the VMCC for the event).

I have attached the entry form and regs and hope to be entering myself.  More information is available about previous events at https://herefordmidwalesvmcc.org/previous-years-2/

I have been told that the VMCC have had many three-wheelers enter over the years but never a Morgan and they would be very pleased to have a few to rectify this omission.

Although the run is primarily for vehicles over 25 years old, younger machines are welcome, but aren’t eligible for awards.

Best wishes,

Dave Anscombe

Your May Bulletin is now online

May bulletin cover

By this time the Bulletin should have fallen through letterboxes and it is now also up on the website for your perusal. As usual, it is jam-packed with interesting articles and pictures including exciting news about this year’s AGM.

Any new model from a manufacturer is always the subject of much speculation and this is certainly the case for the potential next generation Morgan Three-Wheeler. We have now been given, courtesy of Autocar magazine, a tantalising glimpse of one being tested (front cover). Asking more questions than it answers, the one thing we can say for certain is that it has three wheels – so, watch this space!

Happy reading!
