VSCC Prescott Long Course - 23rd September 2017

VSCC Prescott Long Course – 23rd September 2017

Although other clubs have used the long course for many years, this is relatively new to the VSCC. Since its introduction in 2014, the ‘Long Course’ Hill Climb at Prescott has proved a hugely popular addition and thus separates from the traditional weekend to become its own standalone event towards this year’s VSCC Speed Championship.

Incorporating the ‘Ettore’s Loop’ extension, the longer circuit provides a bigger challenge for Competitors and a real spectacle for those watching trackside as the usual array of Edwardian, Vintage and PVT Racing and Sports-Cars are joined by invited Post-war machinery.

Three Morgan Three Wheeler Club members were competing. Sue Darbyshire and Pete Enticknap were in Morgans and Hannah Enticknap was driving the Morgan-derived Salome. After engine problems in her racer at Snetterton, Sue reverted to the road-going Super Aero for this event.

A few words from Sue:

“I ran in class 14 racing cars instead of changing to the right class and found myself propping up the rest of the class which was mainly ERAs. Oh well the weather was Good! I’m afraid my head wasn’t in the right place so a very lacklustre performance.

Pete was enjoying himself. The track was very slippy all morning but dried in the afternoon. Even so all the times seemed slower than earlier in the year.”
