The Touring Group’s visit to Istanbul
Roger Gates, Richard Hardy and myself made it to Istanbul and back in the most amazing trip. We covered 17 countries, 2 continents, over 4,500 miles and 100+ hours of driving in 4 weeks. Up until Slovakia we also had Peter Golding with us in his P/101 who had to cut his trip short to return to the UK. He did the 1,200 miles in 2 days so is now known as “Ironman”. Along the way we encountered torrential thunderstorms, snow and stifling 35 degree days. The only issue en-route was a Turn Signal Module failure on my car which meant I lost left hand indicators for the last few days.
