“Since the first visit in 2012, the Club’s Seaman Memorial Trophies Meeting at the celebrated Norfolk circuit has gone from strength to strength, fast-becoming one of the venue’s biggest draws behind only high-profile National series.”
The Words:
There were two club members competing in three wheelers, Sue Darbyshire and Iain Stewart. Both had high hopes for the meeting but both had disappointments. We have words from both of them:

Sue and I were the only Morgan 3 wheelers at VSCC Snetterton. The weather was fabulous and the day started off full of promise (sounds familiar). Both the Morgans fired up easily to go out for qualifying and they sounded good.
As soon as I got out onto the track for practice – my Morgan went onto 1 cylinder. I plodded around only firing on one pot in order to qualify for a place on the grid. At one stage I was even overtaken by an Austin 7.
Back in the paddock I found there were no sparks going to No-2 cylinder. Rather than waste time with fault finding, I removed the coil set up and fitted a pair of BTH Dirt Track magnetos. Being late in exiting the paddock meant that I then started the main race from the pit lane (after everyone had gone). My Morgan was running well on magnetos and had worked its way up to 4th place by lap 3. Then – whilst trying to maximise progress, I inadvertently over revved the engine in 1st gear on the start / finish straight. This resulted with a piston nipping up (shortly after) causing the car to retire.
A few Morgan 3 Wheeler owners turned up to cheer (and laugh), the glorious weather made for a very pleasant day.

….and my day fared little better. My Morgan overheated in practice, which seemed to be a continuation of the malady that struck at Mallory Park. An assortment of changes before the race failed to solve the issue and I limped around in 3rd place about 1000rpm down on maximum for half of the race whereupon one plug melted and the power dropped away even further resulting in a very slow limp to the line in 4th place. oh dear oh dear.
