This was a two day VMCC meeting at Darley Moor on August 13/14 2012.
Highlights of the meeting included Bill Tuer stripping the 8/80 engine after practice on Saturday to replace a broken half-timing pinion. The engine was rebuilt and fitted in time for Hamish to win his race and for Bill to pip the Berkeley of Sid Ormrod to the post after parking him behind Richard White.
Tim Gray had an oil leak and Roger Orford’s MX2 driven by his son Matt suffered some sort of “tightening up” problems.
Charles Pilbeam visited the gravel trap twice, there was probably enough inside the F-Type to resurface Chas’ drive.
Richard White made a slow start in race 1. “That’s what happens when you set off in top” said Richard.
On the social side, a number of non-racing members arrived in Morgans to enjoy the sunshine and the racing and the closing highlight was Cathy Quinn’s cake fest!
