La Vie en Bleu May 2012

A few words from our Competition Secretary:

“La Vie en Bleu” Prescott 27th May This was a glorious weekend with endless sunshine and 19 entries for Round 3 of the MTWC Challenge on Sunday. Many of us had not competed at Prescott before and found it challenging with some taking to the gravel traps during practice more than once. Bill and Maggie Tuer were in fine form with a time of 52.99 which we think is a new record time for the long course with passenger. Hamish Bibby and Katie Bain were close behind with 53.1 with Chas Reynolds (54.38) and Greg Bibby (54.51) third and fourth. Gary Caroline was the fastest 2 Speeder with 55.64 followed by Alistair Rew with 58.42. Fastest in Touring Modified Class was Matt Orford who beat both of the Racing F-Types with a time of 62.07, an excellent result. Cathy Quinn and Phil Bridge were half a second ahead of Chas Pilbeam with 70.56. Chris Harfield with French club member Serge Caffarel in the passenger seat was the only Standard Class car and managed a very creditable 81.98.

La Vie en Bleu is a wonderful event and our Morgans were very well received by everyone. We had a continuous stream of visitors in the paddock with support from numerous members of the Club who we hope enjoyed the spectacle. After such a good display we can hope that we get an invite next year.
