West Midlands and South West Daffodil Run

We normally gather for lunch at about midday (most in the pub and some with sandwiches) and then the increasingly small band of us who go wandering in the fields tend to set off about 2pm for a walk.  The others either go home, hang around the pub or move on to the church, where the local ladies usually put on tea and cakes.  There isn’t a specific “Run” as such, just the journey to and from Dymock.

If you want lunch at the Beauchamp Arms, the manageress asks if you could please book asap as they are already getting busy but is happy to reserve space for us if we give her some bookings.  As usual, I suggest we gather on the green outside the church in time for midday and I am planning to start a ramble round the fields at about 2pm for those who would like some exercise.

If the weather is wet, please don’t use (or damage) the village green by driving on it.  The field opposite should have been opened for us to park.  I don’t yet have confirmation that the local ladies will be offering tea and cakes in the church after lunch but, if they don’t, the Beauchamp Arms have promised to do so instead.  I hope to see you there.

To book lunch, please ring 01531 890266  (Please book for 12:00 and mention the MTWC)

Curborough Test & Taster Day plus Breakfast Meeting @ Curborough Sprint Course
Apr 7 all-day

Building on the success of last year’s Test & Taster Day, Austin Smith has organised another meet at Curborough Sprint Course. And this year, the Test & Taster Day coincides with one of the club’s Breakfast Meetings organised by Ian Parkinson. You’re welcome to come along and watch, even if you’re not taking part in the Taster Day.

Curborough Test & Taster Day plus Breakfast Meeting

    • The sprint track action is likely to start at 10am (or maybe 9.30am) and run throughout the day.
    • Garage 56 will be demonstrating their 5 Speeder upgrades and Phil Bleazey will be demonstrating his 5 Speeder drivetrain upgrades
    • Along with a number of well known MTWC racers such as Chas Reynolds and Tom Cowley, a trio of 5 Speeder racers, John Scruton, Rob Pike and Austin Smith will be undertaking pre season testing and no doubt having some fun on and off the track.
    • The event coincides with a monthly Breakfast meeting at Curborough, so the cafe will be open selling a tasty selection of breakfast goodies

West Midlands VMCC Long Mountain Run

Arrive at 10 a.m. for a 10:30 start.  If you arrive earlier, bacon and sausage sandwiches will be available before the start and lunch can be booked for your return. Rooms are available at the Inn on the Green if you want to stay overnight and, last year, a couple of crews stayed there for the Saturday night and reported that the price was reasonable and the dinner and breakfast were up to the required standard  I don’t know whether we will be storming the Long Mynd this year but, even if we don’t, the scenery is always worth admiring.
