Busy, buy, busy….
At this time of year there are lots of events with Morgans competing all over the country and abroad. It’s impossible to cover them all, but contributions from competitors and spectators are always welcome. It doesn’t matter whether it’s just a couple of sentences or a few paragraphs. Your contributions are always welcome and I’m quite happy to sub-edit where necessary without losing your style.
Did anyone enter the Oliver’s Mount hill climb weekend at Scarborough?
I think the racing F types performed at Anglesey last weekend. News, please.
Also it would be appreciated to receive some news items not directly related to events.
NHCA Curborough Twisty Sprint – Sat 25 July
We had 5 entries and some very close competition.
Phil Yarnall was sharing his 5-speeder with Nico Panigada. Nico hadn’t driven the Morgan prior to the event, so it was going to be interesting who came out on top. Phil has written an account of their competition for the next edition of Competition News that will appear on the club website soon.
The other three entries were the two F2s of Cathy Quinn and TQ plus Tom Golland’s Aero. The Aero suffered ‘pinking’ which indicated some ignition gremlin. The starter motor then decided to under-perform, but Tom Cowley organised a tow start using Cathy’s F2. The two Toms’ perseverance paid off with Tom G pipping TQ on his second timed run.
As usual we were made very welcome by the NHCA, had three practice runs before lunch. There were two timed runs after lunch followed by the usual top ten run off for the solos and we could have had another ‘open’ run had we stayed on. That’s not bad for a £70 entry fee.
VSCC Mallory Park – Sat 15 August
From Sue Darbyshire’s Facebook page…. “VSCC Mallory, lovely day, lovely meeting. Finished 2nd after leading for a bit but lost 500 revs later in the race due to, we think, a loose manifold. Had a great battle with lots of Nashes.”
3-Speeder Gearbox Sprockets
Mogspares would like to know whether there is a demand for 3-speeder gearbox sprockets suitable for the hill climbing and twisty sprint entrants. The last 17T has been sold and that size is not in great demand as most folk with road-going cars use 18T upwards. Is there a demand for 17T, 16T or even 15T sprockets? Sunday 13 September – NHCA hill climb at Wiscombe Park, near Honiton, Devon. Go to nhca.co.uk, then Calendar, then tab down to the event and you will find links to the Regs and to the Entry Form.

Sporting AGM Meeting at 2pm
The evening meal will be served in a private dining room at a cost of £35 per person and will be followed by The Morgan Three Wheeler Club Competition Awards.
Guests will be able to choose from three options for each course, with the menu and full details to follow shortly.
