The 2026 Goggles & Gauntlets event will be based at the Luccombe Manor Hotel, Shanklin, Isle of Wight. Arriving Mon 27th April and departing 1st May 2026
The hotel is holding a limited number of rooms for us for a few weeks as follows:
Classic Room (double or twin bedded) £860 double occupancy or £660 single occupancy – 17 rooms of this type available
Sea View Room (double or twin bedded) £1,160 double occupancy or £960 single occupancy – 6 rooms of this type available
These rates are based on bed and breakfast with 2 course dinner each evening (coffee is not included but can be purchased separately). Dinner will be served at their sister hotel, Luccombe Hall Hotel, which is a 3 minute walk away.
The hotel does not have a lift but they do have one ground floor room available if stairs are a problem.
The hotel is ‘dog-friendly’ so please talk to the hotel about this when booking if you want to bring your pooch. Full details on the hotel website.
Car Ferry:
Wightlink have two routes: Lymington to Yarmouth and Portsmouth to Fishbourne with sailings every 40 minutes.
You have a choice when it comes to booking the ferry crossings.
• You can book direct with https://www.wightlink.co.uk for around £73. Select vehicle type as ‘Motorcycle’ ‘up to 3m’. [We have confirmation in writing from Wightlink that the Morgan 3 Wheeler – being a trike – does fall under the category ‘Motorcycles, Trikes & Quads’ even though it is 3.26m long.]
• Alternatively, the hotel can offer return ferry crossings for £60 when you book through them. However, you would need to make any amendments to your booking via the hotel and they reserve the right to make a charge for this. They are awaiting confirmation from Wightlink of the discount for next year so you will need to call them back after mid-December for final details.
Personally, I feel that the small discount offered doesn’t offset the potential hassle factor. Your choice!
Regarding sailing times, I suggest mid-afternoon on 27th April and mid-morning on the 1st May – but it’s really up to you.
• You will need to be at the ferry port at least 30 minutes before sailing.
• It will take around 30 minutes to drive from the hotel to the Fishbourne Ferry and around 45 minutes to Yarmouth.
Note: Red Funnel who sail from Southampton to Cowes classify our trikes as regular cars so the fares are much higher.

• Call the hotel on 01983 869000 between 9am and 6pm (any day of the week).
• Say you are with the Morgan 3 Wheeler Group staying 27th April to 1st May 2026.
• Give your choice of room: ‘Classic’ or ‘Sea view’ and number of occupants.
• Pay 25% deposit for room (non-refundable). Balance to be paid on arrival.
