Statfold is a little-known gem, which has been developed over the last fifteen years, has grown to become what must be the most significant collection of narrow-gauge locomotives in the UK. With over 30 steam locomotives and many internal combustion locomotives, representing most British and several overseas manufacturers.
There will be over 5 locomotives in steam, which you can ride on. The Roundhouse museum with the main collection of engines will be open and there are plenty of bars, restaurants and other facilities. Bring your children, grandchildren and partner even if they are not interested in trains as there will be entertainment for them. Bring and display your Morgan and there will be a concessionary entry for you and your passenger.
Statfold have recommended the Appleby Inn Hotel (01530 270463), which is only 7 miles away. Do book early as rooms will go fast. There are also caravan & camping pitches at Statfold, for these contact Statfold ([email protected] or call 01827 830389).
