Club Opening Run – Sunday 14th April

Not long until the club’s Opening Run at the Severn Valley Railway in Bridgnorth.

We’ve now got final details from Dave Anscombe who’s done a great job of organising this year’s event. Here’s what he had to say:

Arrangements have now been finalised with the SVR.  The railway have just opened a brand new visitor facility at the station, built to authentic GWR designs, with conveniences, a bar and restaurant and there will be a display outside the main entrance (by invitation only) of representative Morgan three-wheelers from the earliest to the latest.  The local press have also said they will be in attendance.

We have been allocated a space on the Severn Valley’s newly surfaced car park behind the station.   When you arrive, do not take the main entrance into the station but carry on up the road a couple of hundred yards and turn left into the approach road signposted to the car park.   Our space is in the far left hand corner adjacent to the path down to the station.  We have a reasonable space available but please park tidily and be ready to pack ‘em in if we get a good turnout!

Thanks to John Andrews from Bridgnorth, we have been offered free parking for tow cars and trailers a few hundred yards from the station (there isn’t room in their car park).  Please contact me for instructions if you wish to make use of this opportunity.  Unfortunately, it will only be available for the day on Sunday.

Free camping/motor home parking is available.  Contact Dave Shotton. More details in The Bulletin.

Please contact me if you would like an advance copy of the instructions for the Bridgnorth walking Treasure Hunt or the scenic run around Shropshire (e.g. if you are staying locally and would like to make use of these on the Saturday).  The run is approximately 35 miles long and takes in various places of interest.

Bookings for the workshop visits are now closed.  If you have booked, you should have received instructions from me about where to meet.

Don’t forget the pub meet on the Saturday night at the Crooked House, Himley DY3 4DA and, if you want dinner there, ring 01384 238583 asap to book.

See you in April.
