Pete Clews and Phil Bridge celebrate success at Schwanenstadt in 2016
Despite incredible determination and great fortitude, Pete Clews finally succumbed to his illness on Thursday 11th May.
He was happy in the knowledge that on the previous weekend his F-Type racer had been doing what it does best – flying around the historic banking at Montlhery driven and passengered by young members of the MTWC.
A note from Ian Hughes: “I can’t thank Pete and Sue enough for inviting me and trusting me to take the car around for them. It was an absolute honour and a privilege to play a part in fulfilling one of Pete’s final wishes, especially on learning from Sue how happy he was to hear the news of our escapades.”
Pete joined the club in 2002 and took on the demanding role of Competition Secretary in 2010. He was an avid supporter of motor sport, the lifeblood of our club. He competed, organised, cajoled and worked incredibly hard. A lovely chap who will be missed.
Our thoughts are with Sue and the family.
