The Morgan Three-Wheeler Club Library

The Morgan Three-Wheeler Club Library is a unique source of reference material for all matters relating to these remarkable vehicles.

What the Library contains

The main library collection includes books, brochures, handbooks, on Morgans or Morgan related companies (suppliers of engines, carburetors, magnetos, etc.). There is a huge range of engineering drawings, plus factory records & correspondence and other miscellaneous historical and technical literature. These amount to over 1000 items, housed in 26 ring binders, plus many large format plans and drawings housed separately. A new 100-page Main Library catalogue is being prepared and should be available soon, in the mean time please contact the Librarian for the current availability of specific items.

Photographs

There is an extensive photographic collection with over 1500 pre-1960 pictures (over 500 of these are pre-1930), housed in 10 large albums arranged in chronological order.

Articles and Bulletins

There are over 750 period magazine articles on Morgan or Morgan-related topics from 1905 to the 1960’s (most are pre-war). These are detailed in an illustrated, 100-page Periodicals Catalogue currently available. There are two complete sets of MTWC Bulletins from the 1945 to date.

Registrations Index

The library maintains a Registrations Index that currently has about 81000 entries to help members trace the history of their cars. This lists all known Morgan registrations and is cross referenced on computer to the rest of the library collection. This means that, given a registration, if your car appears on any of the thousands of photographs, MTWC Bulletins, magazine articles etc. No matter how old, the item can be located instantly. It may also be possible through Club records and local authority archives to identify the original or other past owners of a particular car. A Registrations Index printout and copies of any related items can be provided for a small charge. To date the library has provided print-outs for over 150 Morgans, most of which have revealed new information of maybe a previously unseen photograph.

The MTWC Library is here to help YOU, the Morgan enthusiast to research, restore, maintain, drive, rally or race, but most important of all, to ENJOY Morgans!

Finally
The continuing growth and improvement of the library facilities relies primarily on the help of others. PERIOD PHOTOGRAPHS, DRAWINGS AND ANY OTHER MORGAN OR MORGAN-RELATED LITERATURE ARE ALWAYS NEEDED. Furthermore, if you have something in pieces or have already restored or reproduced a component, make a drawing of it for the library. You don't need fancy drafting skilled or equipment, a sketch with dimensions and notes id fine, we can do the rest, including a check of the design and specification by competent engineers if necessary. If you have any historical items that you are willing to donate, or to loan for copying, let us know. Don’t just keep them in a desk drawer or hide pictures away in some ancestor’s dusty old photo album. PLEASE make them available to the Club so that others can benefit. This way YOU may get to know a little more about YOUR Morgan.
