LPND 2014

The Words:

From Mike Guess:

Of the 44 “tricyclecars” entered for this year’s Retro, 25 were Morgan, 15 Darmont, 3 Sandford and 1 BSA. Of the Morgans, 20 were due from the U.K.

As usual, we had our own social meeting on the Friday night, where we were joined by the event organising committee and the secretary of the Tricyclecaristes de France.

The 100 kilometre tour on the Saturday was undertaken in hot, sunny weather, making the stop for elevenses all the more welcome and lunch in a chandeliered banqueting hall. Back at base, the evening buffet was followed by the “Demonstration en Semi-Nocturne”, i.e. lapping the village in the dark. Our lead demonstrator was the inevitable Sue Derbyshire backed up by Pete Clews and the F-types of Phil Bridge and Steve Terry. The rest of the U.K. contingent opting to relax with a glass (or two). The Sunday demonstrations were led again by you-know-Sue, well supported by the rest of us.

Great to note that Gordon Naisby and the Carolines drove their Morgans all the way there and back, also among the spectators were that intrepid duo otherwise known as the Clements brothers.
